End of week 1

SO end of weekone.

its been pretty good so far.. bit of a fail on the last 2 days tho as the local server went down so i was pretty much painting blind, when coding some new pages… i have no idea what its going to look like … eeekk! about 20 pages to go ! scary !

Tuesday should be fun I’m gonna play softball with The Multi-Channel Bears! jokes on them im crap at sports! i hope they dont wanna win !

oh well!

Work Placement – Days 1 to 3

So my first week of work placement is half way through, thought i would share what i have been doing these few days.

On day one, i arrived a felt REALLY award .. i shouldn’t be at a place of work just yet! and i don’t do mornings so i was really tired !

Jo the person who is looking after of me for the next 5 and a bit weeks ( well 6 but half of it has gone :p ) is really unorganized, did make me giggle a little bit. I was finally given my first piece of work to do which was a few banners for some new kinda stock that is coming in ! heres one i made very basic, but they were happy with the fact that i made 24 in under 3 hours !

Then it was time to go home! after this i never wanna have to drive in rush hour again! its a pain in the pooper!

I swear by the time my head hit that pillow, the alarm was calling! UGH 6.30 am! does this time even exist?!

Back in the car i jump and off for another day at the ‘office’ !

My next piece of work to create was the ‘multi-channel’ news letter that goes around the people in that sector, to tell them whats going on and stuff like that! so i created that, and now im just waiting to find out how to put it into an email with HMTL … which im doing on Thursday. Heres what it looks like:

Today Wednesday ! we had an SEO ‘workshop’ bascially  a lecture, but it was soo much better tbh! i actually understood what was going on and learnt a lot from it! made LOADS of notes which is not normal for me! but oh well

All i know is that  Im REALLY looking forward to having the weekend to chill and be with the people i love bcoz by the time i get back im too tired to even talk lol!

End of year 2

Wow what a year…

loosing friends, making new ones. Arguing with course mates, and not really liking the course!

my main dislike this year, was the lack of actual ‘media production’. i know it was probably in prep for next year.. but we do pay alot of money to come here! and this year has been a waste of that. and im sure that most of the students would agree with me here!

For me the low point was the media theory! i disliked the way it was set out, and rushed amount of time it was done.

I have had many low points this year, starting with the games project, where i found myself being almost victimized by fellow course mates! whilst having valid reasons. and many discussion with course leaders, counselors and doctors, the group still did not realize the seriousness of the ‘illness’.

The games project itself, was hard enough for me to get my head around as i find it hard to use flash! and as our group game was flash i didnt feel i was given any work to do!

i dont thrive in group work, so considering that all of the ‘projects’ that were done this year were group work, i was not too amuzed as you can tell.

I think that uni is dysfunctional in some points. For example, i am quite obviously dyslexic, i went through the uni to my DSA! and yet! in every essay since the begging of first year, i have had the SAME comments over and over again! “your spelling is weak” ” your grammar is incorrect and lacking”etc etc ! how can they not have realized that after 2 frigging years of my shitty essays! that has also brought me down alot! fair enough we are at uni, but for gods sake its not hard, considering the points above.

i feel that this last unit, on Professional Studies is a little irrelevant, as i do not plan to start up my own business any time soon, and even if i did i would go to my mother for help, as she her self is running a successful PR company by her self.

rant aside, I’m really looking forward to doing some more project next year, the thoughts are a little scary considering its my last year as a student, and the thought of being 21 scares me a little but yeh … thats not the point..

Work placement is starting on monday (7th june) and im so scared! what if im not good enough for them, will they get rid of me and ill fail my workplacement ? and there for fail my year ?! will i fail this pdp essay bcoz all i have to say is negative stuff ? where the F do i start?!

all i can say is thank god its the holidays! and that i can finally put this year behind me!

wow, summer went fast did it not

now living in a house with three guys! one of which the most perfect in the whole world !
cant wait to start off and see what is going to happen this year

things have happened which are pretty shocking that makes me worried about this year! but oh well

i shall try my best bring on the game designs !

END OF THE YEAR :D !

Wow what a year that has been!— the fastest 10 months of my life! esspeicly that last 7 weeks!

i dont EVER want to go through that again! i did not enjoy that last project in the slightest! People can be such bitches! fucking hate casper! the pain of my life! people should really think about their actions and words before they say it ! can really cause people pain! GRUMBLE! the year started off with i feel the best unit! i love photoshop and everything about it ! i could not and will not ever want to change that! my images felt strong i got a good mark(ish) in my essay and that was that! i started happy!

then we went on to narratives! the group project that was amazing fun to ! had such a laugh with everyone! got to go out and about even go see a gig ! all in aid of the project tho:D! PROMISE! did quite well with that! essay writting got harder! NOT impressed! got a little bit of a lower mark!

After the xmas holidays we started on flash! THE PAIN OF MY LIFE! i hate that program with a passion never have liked it ! could not understand it for the world! what is with all that bluddy coding! poop! that was a crap unit! i really really disliked that ! so fidely etc! and yet again my mark for my essay went down! no thanks to the marker! who dusnt seem to understand! i am dyselix! I DONT SPELL! or do GRAMMER well ! FFS! so that was just SHIT! tbh!

And then there was the sumemr project! herd this was going to be amazing! LIES! hated almost every min of it! its not that i didnt get on with the group they just disliked me! and or took it WAY too seriously! lighten up its fucking uni for gods sake! GROWL! every weekend i spent crying because ppl didnt understand that i find it hard to work in groups with people that i dont know! i have other things on my mind ! as well as that! i felt that the project was a good idea! but us as imps were given NOTHING to do! 1 memeber wanted to do the website by himself thats because of diff styles of coding and lets face it im crap with techy stuff like flash! i kept being told i did nothing and yet there wasn othing to do! i sorted out PR with my mum! got radio stations involoved NO! not good enuff! what the fuck do they want from me! telling me that the group didnt trust me and that it makes them sick that i was going to get 50% of a mark that i didnt deserve! fuck them! you know what BURN IN HELL! got summit to say ! say it to my face! oh well! and yes *** i was ILL! and didnt come in with a tan! its called johnsons body moustiser with fake tan in it! that i have been using ALL YEAR! so screw you ! if only you knew …..

but anyways on the hole! YES uni this year has been amazing! cant wait for nxt year REALLY looking forward to placement (wish i know where it was tho) lol

Essay For Film

Pokemon

This Anime type series came by originally from a popular game. The cartoon is popular among young children and pre teens. It is based on a fictional world, where little animals called Pokemon live. Some ‘trainers’ catch them, raise them and fight their rivals with them. Then again other just keep them as pets, as some of them are cute.

The catchy theme tune, and the bright colours, interest children from ages 10 to maybe up to ages 13 and even up to the ages 15. Some don’t think that adults think and or find the content in the cartoon of any interest, as it is too ‘immature’, and has no real purpose to the roles, lives and ideologies.

 

Blood + 

 

This is again an anime series. It is aimed at an older teen audience from possible 16 to mid 20’s. This is because of the gore content. I believe that this is the age group because the content could be hard to understand, as it is very fast passed. Also as the animation is typically in Japanese reading subtitles from younger children could be confusing, and the effect would not be the same, or as striking. I don’t think that this would appeal to an older audience because even though it has its mature sections, adults over 25 may become to think that it is childish and again have no real appeal to it. They can’t relate to it and therefore have no interest.

 

 American Dad

American Dad, is an American sitcom, that is created by the same people that created the comic family guy. This is an adult cartoon, filled with dirty jokes, adult humor and everything else that goes with that. It is taking the mick out of the traditional father figure in the USA.

The target audience for this show is between older teens such as 17 upwards to mid 30’s. I think that the age limit stops there because older generations would not understand the jokes that are made in the 21^st century.

Younger people have the same problem I think that they would not understand what was being said, and even though they find it funny they wouldn’t understand and or relate to what was going on in the story lines. 

 

Finding Nemo

This is a 3d CGI movie that is suitable for the whole family. Again as the children’s cartoon, there are bright colours and also themes that are constant though out the whole of the movie, such as friendship. It is a comedy film that has both adult humors for the older watches and parents, but also comedy that the younger generation will understand and be able to laugh at.

The film is a PG, which indicated that there are some scenes that may not be suitable for younger viewers but, some would think that this is not necessary, and would give the film a U. which means universal meaning that it is suitable for every age group that is out in modern society.

Out Of Class Exercise

Describing your virtual world though creative writing

 

In this image, the out line of the hands and the apple has been enhanced by the fact that the background is completely black. This makes the foreground stand out more, as that has more colours to it. The hands show nature, as we are studying this. The apple is the Apple Mac logo, instead of having a conventional apple, because this shows technological advances. The colours are very cold, and the picture is quite linier.

The lines are soft but at the same time they are showing an action, as if the hands are being shown to someone, instead of just being there, to be photographed. This creates a mood in the image, which again makes the bright green apple stand out more.

There is an equal balance of colour in this image.

The image flows; there is no out of place colours and or lines that should not be there. There is also a good composition in the image, the hands are in the middle and the eye focus or the dominance, is on the apple, which is also in the middle of the image.

The light in this image is very much casting a shadow on the left hand side of the image. This again causes a smooth, soothing look to the image.

 

I personally feel that this image has a dream like state to it, as the outline of the arms is slightly blurred and that’s how I would depict a dream like image.
